On January 8-11th, 2013, Give-A-Ball Foundation carried out the Nigeria Soccer Project Part 2 which empowered 200 children in our Give-A-Ball Journey Program in Ibadan Nigeria. The organization visited Subuola Primary School, Omolewa Primary School and Adelayo Academy. The foundation focused on leadership and teamwork in the organization’s “ball talk” discussion. As the program participants also learned about the Give-A-Ball Values, they reinforced the concepts that were taught as they participated in our soccer clinics and tournament-style scrimmage games. Each participant received his or her own brand-new soccer ball and Give-A-Ball T-shirt. Also, we donated 2 soccer goals, 40 cones, and 4 pumps to each school to ensure the students have the opportunity to play.
To end the week of activities, the three schools and Bodija Academy (from the original Give-A-Ball Nigeria School Project) participated in first Give-A-Ball Tournament. The two days of competition were held on the grounds of Subuola Primary and Secondary Schools. Medals were given to the first, second and third place teams and the winning team were also given a trophy. Bodija Academy came in first place, Adelaya came in second place, and Omolewa came in third place.
